Get to know me(:

I want y'all, the readers to get to know me a little better, and maybe come to understand some of my reasons for my opinions and why I think what I think.
  1. I'm Mormon, I've been a member of the Church my WHOLE life, but I'm not a member, because of my parents, I'm a member because I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel.
  2. My best friend is Kirsten May. Bottom line, we used to hate each other growing up, she tried to kill me, but that's a story for another time. Her mom was best friends with my grandma.
  3. I have a pretty big family, in my house, and in the extended family.
  4. I am very opinionated, but I definitely feel like it is getting harder and harder to share my opinion with people who are mature enough to handle there opinion being challenged.

  7. I hate being ignored, seriously.

  9. I love and enjoy doing makeup and hair.
  10. I'm a licensed cosmetologist, but I don't really have a desire to work in a salon, because I'm not into the idea of working with a lot of girls who are constantly competing, or super two faced.
  11. I love having a good time, but I also really enjoy having nights in and enjoying a good movie.
  12. I want to run and own a business, but I know right now I don't have the knowledge.
  13. In the future, I would like to have two dogs, one tiny and one big, preferably a dark great dane.
  14. I'm pretty confident, but deep down I'm actually pretty shy. I just choose to be confident
  15. Most girls hate me before they get to know me.
  16. I've gotten in one fender bender, because I was driving to church and my car hydroplaned into my best friends car. Nobody was injured and nothing big happened
  17. I have a lot of great ideas, but I don't know how to put them into action.
  18. I want to be well loved, and to leave behind a great legacy when I die.
  19. Cheesecake is my favorite dessert.
  20. I love speaking in front of people, as long as I have a good topic to speak on.

Life is TOO Short

So I was just looking through tweets on my twitter when I looked at the clock it said, 11:00.
I just sat on my couch and kept reading and reading and reading. I look back up at the clock and realized I had just wasted 45 min without even thinking. There are so many more things I could be doing to have been productive.
  • Such as working on homework
  • Helping around the house
  • Practicing piano
  • Reading scriptures
  • Researching some stuff
BUT NOPE, instead I wasted 45 min, sitting on the couch scrolling through twitter.
How often do we as people just sit around and stare at our phones? There are so many things that we are missing by staring at our phones.
Right now one of my monthly goals is to limit my phone use, because I realize that I constantly grab my phone just to have my phone in my hand, and don't tell me that's ridiculous, because the majority of the people that are reading this are probably struggling with that. I mean why else are you reading my blog, you probably got bored so you're just searching the internet or Facebook.
So I'm going to publicly challenge y'all to reevaluate your cellphone use, or your internet use, and make an effort to be more apart of the world we live in.
I'm sure we can do so much more in this world if we weren't staring at our phones every min of the day.

What Would I Do Without My Best Friend??

What are best friends for??
Let me tell ya! I have to say that I have been very blessed with one of the greatest best friends a person could ask for. I'm sure you're itching to know why I bring this to y'all's attention!
Well my best friend is so honest, you know you have a good best friend when you can be honest and open with each other, and not be totally butt hurt.
Second my best friend always finds time for me, even in her full time school, and full time job!
And thirdly she has been a great support, when I have gone through some rough patches these last 6 months.
So anyways to move on, I very greatly suggest y'all should each find your very own best friend that can be great and accommodate your every need ;)

I'm just going to brag for a few more sentences about her!
1. She loves children, so she's able to handle my random outbursts of immaturity
2. She loves to workout which totally helps motivate me to work out, and keep me fit
3. She's tall, which is great because I'm tall and she doesn't make me feel like a giant!
4. She is very understanding, and I love that, because God totally knew I need a best friend that could be understanding, because I say really retarded things sometimes and she manages to understand that I wasn't trying to be mean, but that it was a notion of love and kindness.
5. She gives great foot massages! That is a necessary qualification to be a best friend, foot massages are important.
6. She always thinks before she speaks when in a heated conversation, and instead of blurting out the first thing that comes to mind she decides to take about 2 or 3 days to gather her thoughts, and explain to me why she is upset with me. This can be a not so good thing because she doesn't talk much between those couple of days.
7. And lastly, she's great at being a friend to everyone, she is welcoming and always does what she can to involve everyone so nobody feels left out!
So to finalize this Blog, I'm so grateful for great friends<3

My key to happiness

What makes a person happy?
What makes me happy?
Do I rely on others to make me feel happy?
What qualifies a person to be TRULY happy?

These are just a few of the daunting questions that I have had over the past 6 months.
Is it as easy as black and white?
I'm happy, I'm not happy.
Well I have done a lot of soul searching and I have come to realize what makes a person happy, and why this world lacks so much happiness.
Here are a few questions I asked myself.
  1. What do I do that makes me happy?
  2. Who makes me happy?
  3. What can I do to make me happy?
I sat around, feeling depressed, because I didn't feel like I was being honest with myself.

You know those movies where things are moving super fast, but there is that one person that is moving way slower than the rest, that's how I felt.
I did not like that feeling.

Everybody is different, happiness comes in different forms.

As I thought, and thought, and thought... A few things came to mind that make me happy, one was going to church, I LOVE the gospel, I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. That has always made me happy. The second thing that came to mind, was my family, I am so grateful for my family, my family isn't perfect, and we love to rile each other up, but we LOVE each other. The third thing that came to mind are my best friends, Tyler and Kirsten, they have always been there to back me up on everything, they have comforted me, they have been the life of the party! But as I thought about it, and as happy as that made me, that I finally thought I figured it out, it dawned on me...

I make the choice to be happy, happy people are happy, because they choose to be happy, they make the best out of what the have.

Its not something that just happens, but the second you learn to accept your situation and be grateful for what your Heavenly Father has blessed you with you will be happier.

3 tips to enjoy your life a little bit more.

1. Thank God for the things you have, and the people you have.
2. Find something that you enjoy doing, and do it(:
3. Laugh, because its hard to not enjoy life if your laughing and having a good time.
BONUS TIP; Drink Lots of water ;)

LDS

What is it like to be Mormon?
What an interesting question that is.
In my own personal experience I'll tell ya.
It's great, it has all these standards and rules I'm asked to follow. Sounds funny right? or maybe even contradicting to most. Why would rules and standards making something great? Don't we all just want to float around in this world doing whatever pleases our human body?
I guess in a sense I like rules and standards, I like knowing what my consequences are and what I can do to avoid those consequences.
But that's not exactly it, there is more to my religion than rules, there is more to it than that. The Book of Mormon literally brings you closer to God. How do I know this?
I have read it, I have prayed about it, and I have acted on it.
Truly when I'm reading that Book, I feel great, I feel God's love stronger.
Many people have misconceptions of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
1. WE ARE CHRISTIAN  (church of JESUS CHRIST)
2. We do not worship Joseph Smith, We know that Joseph Smith restored the True church to the Earth again, but he is not God. He is a Prophet.
3. We are not a cult. I am in no way forced or brainwashed. I promise.
4. We do not believe in polygamy, my dad doesn't have multiple wives. He has one, and he loves her and has eyes only for her.
5. We do believe and follow the bible, as long as it is translated correctly.
Just to clear up a few misconceptions.
There are times when it is hard to be Mormon, so many people feel the need to teach me of what my religion is, and what I believe. Honestly I would love for y'all to take the missionary lessons and read the Book of Mormon and then pray about it, and then we can discuss what we know.
Many people think we are outdated, that our standards are outdated.
But there are many blessings that come from our standards, I'm very grateful for the standards I have!
What is it like to be Mormon?
Its Wonderful.

Life isn't perfect

Life isn't perfect, like what the heck?
There are days where I wonder what it'd actually feel like to be my mom and experience what she is going through. I want to understand and have more appreciation! I'm a teenager and I'm selfish, I get it! "I try so hard to piss" my parents off! Hmm I honestly sometimes feel like I am kicking butt and that I do so much, but my parents never seem to fail to call me lazy.
Their using reverse psychology all wrong! By telling me how lazy I am make a me want to show them how lazy I really could be!! I'm the type of person that wants to be told "good job" or "wow you are soo good!" Why do you think I have picked cosmetology as one of my future career options, it is super rewarding!
Waiting for Tyler is super rewarding, not only will I get to marry him and receive all the blessings from the temple, BUT everyone will tell me good job for waiting! Haha that is NOT the only reason I'm waiting, haha that would be silly!

Which brings me too....
Pinterest.... Pinterest shows me what close to perfect people can accomplish.. Not only can they accomplish making impossible things possible, but they make all of us not even close to perfect people feel like crap..
I'm in a stump, I want to be creative, and organized, and constantly dressing and looking cute, and cooking these absolutely amazing meals while awaiting my sexy husband(Tyler) to get home from work and kiss me and tell me I look awesome!
Like why can't life be perfect like that?!

Then there are days like today where you get all dressed up and cute to take one good picture to send to your lovely missionary and then you get dressed into some pj shorts and a jacket and put your hair up, because you just don't want to deal.
                   I wish I was creative!
I wish I could be more put together
     I wish I had a better attitude
I wish my parents appreciated me more
I wish school could be more rewarding
I wish these braces were off
I wish the two years were up

ALL IN ALL LIFE IS GREAT!
Life isn't perfect, and that's okay, there are so many things I wish I was good at, and we all have our insecurities. BUT if you can look at what you have and what you can do and still smile a real smile, life is great. God didn't send us here to live a perfect life, but to learn and grow and appreciate the things we have, regardless on if we feel rewarded or not.
